Background: Born in Auburn NY , I spent the first 18 years shoveling snow and decided that I should go south and live in a warmer climate while in college.¿¿ I selected The Citadel in Charleston SC as my new home. (What a shock being a Yankee in a southern military school).¿¿¿¿ Upon graduation from The Citadel I joined the USAF and worked in weather and space operations for the next 20 years.¿¿ Assignments included flying into typhoons as part the 54th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron in Guam, detachment commander of a solar observatory in Alamogordo NM, Director of Operations of the Space Forecast Center at Falcon AFB CO, an Air Force action officer at The Pentagon, and an instructor at Air Command and Staff College in Maxwell AFB, AL teaching light subjects on ¿¿¿War Theory¿¿¿ and ¿¿¿Air Campaign Operations¿¿¿.¿¿ Through out my military career I invested in Real Estate.¿¿ Upon retiring from the USAF, I moved back home to Charleston SC and became a full time real estate agent sharing my the real estate knowledge and wisdom I had learned as investor with my clients.
Family:¿¿ Married to Shelbie Nicole Near and have 4 children:¿¿ Susan Near Oltmann (full time real estate agent and partner on ¿¿¿¿¿The Near Team¿¿¿), Hillary, James and Jaden. The children attend Moultrie Middle School .¿¿ We are very active with the youth ministry at St Andrews Church in Mt Pleasant, SC developing the leaders for the next generation.¿¿
Hobbies:¿¿ Swimming, running and fishing.
